A yellow brick wall has an opening with a door and a small window. The wall is inside a large industrial power station, surrounded by exposed steel columns and beams. A large metal duct rises on the left and goes up above the edge of the image. Debris is seen around the floor.

Control Room Exterior

In poor light, this building is a joy to explore. With the right light, it's astounding.

This is the exterior of this control room inside the Richard L. Hearn thermal generating station. According to Bill, this is the control room for units 5 and 6 (thanks!).

These days, the building is just a shell of its former self. As more of the interior pieces are removed, it becomes harder to imagine what it must have been like during full operation.
