Pine Cone on Beach Oct 28, 2005

Sand Harbor State Park in Nevada is a sandy beach on Lake Tahoe but it's also surrounded by pine trees growing out of the beach sand — something I hadn't really seen before. To say there were pinecones everywhere would be an understatement. This photo just shows one but you couldn't walk very far without encountering them at each step. Even on the beach.
