The coal fields to the east of the generating station were capable of storing half a million tonnes of coal. The conveyor belts here would be used to move the coal inside the generating station where it would be kept in interior storage silos. According to the stats about the facility, four of the eight units running at full power would consume almost 400 tonnes of coal per hour.

No wonder its so muggy around here
This is one of the "stocking out booms" used to build the coal pile. There was a small operator near the top of the central tower to control the boom which is sitting on it's rest support. It could swing in an wide arc of perhaps 270 degrees while the coal conveyor belts brought the coal from the lake freighter all the way to the coal pile via these "spreaders".
