This wouldn't seem so comical to me if the nuts had not been painted yellow. Given that they're fairly large it sort of minimizes the large-scale industrial feel by giving them primary day-glo colours. On the other hand, it made me photograph it so go figure.

Guess even factories need a bit of art, eh? When I looked at the thumbnails of this gallery, this knock-out blue caught my eye, too.
Hmm, maybe the size of the bolts are color-coded...
When I see huge nuts like this I think back to my visit to an abandoned DEW radar instalation...the lag bolts that attached to the radar arrays were something like 2 feet in diameter. I remember thinking how I'd have LOVED to seen the bolts (and wrenches) used on those puppies!!
