Or, not. What I suspect are the interior 'guts' of a turbine were placed out on the turbine hall floor which made it easy to walk around and examine the actual rotor blades. It'd be quite an interesting piece of sculpture assuming you had a room large enough for it...
For a scale reference, the diameter of the large circle in the middle (the shaft of the turbine blades) is about 4' across.
