This image from the archives comes from the Buffalo Color facility (located in, you guessed it, Buffalo).
And on a different note... if anybody knows of a good alternative to a Sony Mini-Disc for recording live music (mostly rehearsals) I'd love to hear about it. Most MP3 players which have record capability seem to be targeted to voice quality only. On the other hand, the Mini-Disc is always touted as a great thing, but Sony's got some serious issues with regard to copyright protection. It makes dealing with your own material frustrating (from what I've heard and read). Anyways, I'd love to hear about other options in the $300+/- range if they exist...

hhhhhhhhhhhh
Fabrication-Welding-Processes-GMAW.GTAW.SAW.SMAW.Current vs Amps. low carbon steel. The energy to make this is large.I wonder if it's still in use. Anyway the lighting is good. The best i've seen from you.
The colour is not right what did you do to it?
I want to know what made that black slime up the wall....HANDS??!
i have a Sony MD and agree that it's sometimes a pain. makes great recording though. i was in a band that played in torontos clubs. we'd sometimes get a board mix from the house sound guy that wouldn't sound as good as the Sony MD with Sony stereo mic clipped to the cieling at the back of the club. only real problem is that the file must be transfered analog into your computer. but maybe that's not such a big deal....sound is still great to me. tough to get decent mix at rehearsals since they tend to be in small rooms. you'll need something to shield the mic(s) from the drums for sure.
great photo today by the way!
yeah - the minidisc recorder could be a great thing. but as usual sony totally messes up the execution by not trusting consumers. i bought one about 4 years ago to do field recording, bootlegs, etc. it drives me crazy that they make this thing with a nice fast USB port but it only goes one way - you can transfer to it but as the comment above states, you have to play back analog into your computer to get anything off of it. lame.
OK, I love this shot! The framing is superb and the colour and sharpness are amazing.
PS: I agree on the Sony issue. Great device crippled by Sony's software. Too bad.
One of your better shots imho. I liked the texture on the far wall framed within the railing.
Nice work.
I like how the lighting is different and shows more texture on the wall between the rails on the right side.
On the blog in general- I like that the comments are under the picture instead of a link. seems like much more of a "community". Been looking for a photoblog program to do that myself.
I love the stark contrasts of color, lines, shapes, harsh and soft. The smear on the far wall created by years of humanity--the stories there would be interesting. Is the color natural or enhanced? I hope it's natural! Once again, superb!
The color on this shot are wild. There are some really powerful lines and shapes challenging the color for my attention. The composition is right on. I really like this image.
killer... looks similar to another shot of yours w/the stairs going the other direction... i prefer the colour of this one as opposed to the aqua blue walls in the other pic. love the lighting!!!
don't like sony's refurbished garb. I'm sure u can find a great deal over boxing week, though... a lot of small electronics places have clearance sales 'cause their lease has run out &have to liquidate stock...??
The Archos Gmini 220
You should've gotten a close-up of the railing.
I like this immensely - the colours are great as is the framing.
The Golden Steps. When I viewed this yesterday it struck a deep chord in my heart. As this year fast approaches its close & the hustle & bustle of Christmas shopping occurs; I have yet to hear a single individual mention a remembrance for one of the greatest men of this century. Pope John Paul II was a working class hero whose humble beginnings were that of a mere factory worker.
really dynamic composition there. in spite of the almost square crop.
oh, and i think i'd second the gmini 220 option. i bought one used for 140 euros (about 200 canadian) and they can record straight to wav and only need a 15$ line-in adapter to plug any mic/preamp set-up to it.
