Tree on the Beach

November 1, 2005

At Sand Harbor State Park, this tree is making a break for Lake Tahoe in a futile attempt to escape to Bermuda. Unfortunately, it's a *lake* so all plans were thwarted quite quickly once it reached the other side.

More Shameless Self-Promotion: In this week's episode, a photo from my Toronto Don Valley Brickworks gallery appears in this week's issue of Eye Weekly (a Toronto newspaper). It's on page 10 of the Oct 27th 2005 issue and there is also an online version.

Oh my gosh! It's the "Day of the Triffids!" (old sci-fi movie in which a meteor makes most of the world blind, and the plants walk and attack!) Your commentary made me smile.

Nice framing and use of space, especially considering the caption!

Congrats on the Eye Weekly bit.

Great shot. I love the b/w this picture is exactly where my mind has been lately. I painted a mural at the restaurant where I work and I was looking for inspiration like this to do the sky. Really awesome. The roots of this tree do resemble an octopus that is trying to get to water.

Very cool shot, but that tree looks like it's fallen victim to a nuclear power plant leak or something... creepy...

Crisp. It reminds me of a 1950's movie.
