This is the same tree I shot a few days back with the bark texture. It's definitely having a problem keeping or growing any leaves and there seem to be hundreds like this.
I've been asked about seeing a black and white version of this one, so it's been included as well (although I still prefer it in colour!).

Perfect for Halloween...and nice shot too!
"Look, Mommy! There's an airplane up in the sky."
I love the contrast of the dead tree and the "living" going on in the jet. I'd love to have that tree in my yard.
What does this look like in B&W?
It reminds me of one of those trees, one would encounter in "The Wizard Of OZ"
AWSOME
AWESOME TOO
Yep, ancient druids or nymphs used that tree as a frolicking spot. It fits the froclicking nymphs in moonlight mold perfectly.
Ha! it was funnie what gabriel said, i bet it would slap me if i took one of its apples "hey, you dont see me pickin apples outa u do u?!"
Killer Pic Kendall
Wow-those dark, slick branches don't look like they really belong, huh? With that deep verticle split, I wonder if it was hit by lightening. And would that kill the leaf-making part? A forest ranger I'm not!
poor tree... wonder how it died...?
actually there is a disease i have noticed this year that is attacking a lot of pine trees... tons of 'em totally grey and dead in one season. tragic... i don't think it's an insect, i believe it's just a weird illness w/no cure yet. very sad, in my opinion.
