Boxcar Wheels Apr 11, 2004

These are the wheels of a train boxcar, speeding by, six feet from my head. When I climbed the hill for yesterday's photo, I reached the top where the train tracks are. Luckily enough, within 10 minutes of being up there two freight trains went by (the first one while I was still under the bridge, which was a little frightening because I heard no advance warning that the train was coming!).

There were two tracks and the trains were using the far one. So, I was able to lie down beside the track and take shots fairly close (no, not *on* the track, but close enough to be a little nervous).
