Scaffolding 2 Feb 28, 2004

Yesterday's photo was taken downtown, this one is from the Yonge and St. Clair area. There were two older movie theatres on Yonge just north of St. Clair. A few years ago one of them was torn down and was replaced with an absolutely hideous building which now houses a Pizza Pizza, Tim Horton's, a gym, etc.

The older (I think) theatre remained vacant for a few years. Just recently they demolished it and replaced it with... a parking lot. This scaffolding is in what was once the lobby. When they demolished the building, they revealed a nice 1950s 'Castrol Oil' logo painted on the neighbouring building. The scaffolding is being used to paint over the entire wall (and the history of everything that was there).
