No Smiles for You

October 17, 2004

First off — thanks to everyone for all the kind words yesterday! We're already starting to plan how we're going to significantly renovate the house. In 5 years. One can always dream..

Anyways, the combination of the two signs here caught my eye last week and made me laugh. I also liked the generic white house against the blue sky reflected through the venetian blind texture. It's not the most interesting shot (in fact, a traditional 'subject' here is hard to find) but it made me point, shoot and upload.

I find this shot to be interesting indeed - the power lines that lead to the utility pole cut through the pattern of the blinds in an unusual way and add some good movement in the frame.

One time my friend asked what the smiles were at McDonalds. Cause they were free and she wanted one. Luckily she was 5 at the time.

Indeed, I find it funny too. The reflection is interesting, it adds even more "bitter laughting" at the whole situation.
