Plywood on Sidewalk

September 1, 2004

So, it's come to this. We now make large 'danger' signs indicating... a piece of plywood laid flat on the sidewalk covering — the sidewalk. No, not a hole under the sidewalk, just.. the sidewalk.

Maybe the title should have been, ‘The Fruit of Personal Injury Lawsuits.’

Anyways, I'm not convinced about the selective colouring here but in colour there was too much distraction and in full black & white the sign wasn't prominent enough. This is included for comic relief during this stressful week.

So I'm not the only one having a stressful week, misery loves company! This did make me laugh though, it's hard to believe the stupidity of the age we live in sometimes.

Haha, that's a good one kendall.

miles.. I agree with you. We live in a really stupid world, on top of what's supposed to be the most modern, and complex period of time in history.

Especially with questions like: "What happens when the mouse scrolls off the mousepad?" .. and "Did you post instructions on the intranet on how to configure your computer to be able to access the intranet?"

These are actual questions I've been asked... Sometimes it's fun to work in the IT department.

Woah. In a time where cities (and whole provinces) are considering banning certain breeds of dog, don't you think we should at least require our plywood to be on a leash - not just lurking unattended on a sidewalk?

I like the selective colouring on the sign - but I'm wondering what it would have looked like with all b/w but brightening up just the sign itself. It is *very* orange.

Regardless, I think you accomplished your goal... it's very funny.

I'm not a big fan of selective coloring, but i think it works here. the whole point of the sign is to "stand out"... it might even be an interesting idea to keep the cone in color as well.

I think the selective colors is what makes the pic work.

And I'm surprised they make the signs so specific. :D
